Programme Educational Objectives

          PREPARATION: To prepare students to succeed in industry/technical profession

         CORE COMPETENCE: To produce graduates with a solid foundation in mathematical, scientific and engineering fundamentals that will enable them to solve civil engineering problems and also to pursue higher studies.

         BREADTH : To produce graduates with breadth in knowledge in other disciplines also, in order to facilitate involvement and solutions for inter-disciplinary real life problems.

         PROFESSIONALISM : To instill in graduates good management and communication skills, the art of self learning, teamwork skills, multidisciplinary approach and an ability to relate engineering issues to broader social context.

Programme Outcomes

          What students are expected to know and be able to do by the time of graduation.

          a. an ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering

          b. an ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data.

          c. an ability to design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability, and sustainability

          d. an ability to function on multidisciplinary teams.
