About the Department of ECE

The Department of Electronics and Communication was established in the year 1991 and is housed in an independent three storeyed building in the campus. The department offers TWO undergraduate programme [4-yr B. Tech] in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), and Robotics & Artificial Intelligence (R & AI) along with TWO Master’s degree program [2-yr M. Tech]. The post-graduate program in Advanced Communication and Information Systems (ACIS) started in 2011, followed by a second program in Advanced Electronics and Communication Engineering (AECE) in 2013.

HOD's Desk

We proudly introduce a U.G. Programme in the trending field of Robotics & Artificial Intelligence (R&AI), the first-ever B.Tech in Kerala in this field. It is the vision of the State Government to produce skillful engineers in this emerging area that has been implemented. Classes commence in the academic year 2022-23. The programme has been designed as an interdisciplinary programme of ECE in association with the departments of Electrical Engineering(EEE), Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), and Mechanical Engineering. The future belongs to R&AI.
