HOD'S DESK

The Department of Civil Engineering has been in existence since the inception of RIT. The Department is housed in an independent spacious block. The department offers B.Tech Programme in Civil Engineering and M.Tech Programme in Transportation Engineering, and, Structural Engineering and Construction Management. Excellent teaching learning process, student centric activities, and dedicated staff are the major strength of the department. Presently the department is accredited by NBA certification. Other activities of the department include research, consultancy, testing, and certification for entire Civil Engineering industry of the state. The department of Civil Engineering is putting all our efforts to improve the overall progress of the students. Also our department is committed with socially relevant projects to uplift the society.

To be a centre of high-quality academic programmes, consultancy, extension services in Civil engineering.

MISSION

Develop and deliver undergraduate, post-graduate, and research programmes capable of evolving various sustainable habitat and infrastructural solutions.
Execute better pedagogic practices.
Build up better facilities.
Encourage constant knowledge upgradation to staff.

  • PREPARATION : To prepare students to succeed in industry/technical profession.
  • CORE COMPETENCE : To produce graduates with a solid foundation in mathematical, scientific and engineering fundamentals that will enable them to solve civil engineering problems and also to pursue higher studies.
  • BREADTH : To produce graduates with breadth in knowledge in other disciplines also, in order to facilitate involvement and solutions for inter-disciplinary real life problems.
  • PROFESSIONALISM : To instill in graduates good management and communication skills, the art of self learning, teamwork skills, multidisciplinary approach and an ability to relate engineering issues to broader social context.
