Hostel

RIT has a total of six hostels, including one PG Hostel, with an overall capacity of 740 students.
There are three hostels for women: the Old Ladies Hostel with an intake capacity of 120, the New Ladies Hostel with a capacity of 180, and the AICTE Ladies Hostel accommodating 82 students. For men, there are two hostels: Men's Hostel 1 with a capacity of 120 and Men's Hostel 2 with a capacity of 225. Additionally, the Postgraduate Hostel offers accommodation for 13 postgraduate students. The RIT hostels shall be under the direct supervision of the Warden (MH and LH), supported by Assistant Wardens and Resident Tutors (RTs).
Hostel admissions are carried out strictly in accordance with the institute's norms and are based on the rules prescribed by the Government of Kerala. The hostels are administered by a Hostel committee chaired by the Principal, with the support of wardens, administrative staff at various levels, and student representatives elected from each hostels The committee periodically reviews matters related to purchases, operations, and overall execution of hostel activities. It also reserves the right to amend existing rules as necessary. Any changes will be communicated to residents through general circulars. All residents are expected to strictly adhere to the rules and regulations in force. At Women’s hostel, in-house matrons are there for aiding the students at night and ensuring smooth functioning of hostels.

All residents of college hostels have to strictly obey the following rules.

The admission to the hostel is for one academic year. Rooms once allotted to the students for an academic year will not be changed except on special situations.

Guests can be permitted only if the permission is obtained. Entertaining unauthorized guest will lead to severe punishment, including expulsion from the hostel.

Use of personal computer by a resident will be permitted only with prior permission of the warden. PC should not be used for objectionable purpose.

The use of electrical appliances such as immersion heaters, electrical stove are forbidden. Private cooking is strictly forbidden. Students should co-operate in carrying out maintenance works and should vacate rooms when the maintenance work is required. The residents shall not move furniture from its allotted place.

All visitors to the hostel will have to make necessary entries in the visitor's book. The residents shall not paste any posters/ pictures etc. on the walls, doors, windows, and shelves. The warden shall levy an amount proportional to the damage.
