IEDC RIT is a vibrant community of student innovators operating under the Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM), dedicated to fostering a strong culture of innovation and entrepreneurship at Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology. It serves as a dynamic platform enabling students to transform their ideas into impactful ventures through expert mentorship, technical resources, funding opportunities, and industry exposure. A flagship initiative under IEDC RIT is Women in Technology and Entrepreneurship (WiTE)—a focused platform empowering women to take leadership in STEM and entrepreneurship, promoting inclusivity and innovation-led leadership. IEDC RIT also hosts a Technology Business Incubator (TBI) that supports early-stage startups by providing incubation space, business mentoring, and essential funding to help scale their ideas. Additionally, the YIP (Young Innovators Program) team actively promotes student-led problem-solving and grassroots innovation from an early stage. Through a wide array of initiatives—including workshops, hackathons, bootcamps, startup visits, speaker sessions, and collaborative projects—IEDC RIT equips students with the skills, mindset, and networks needed to become future-ready entrepreneurs and changemakers driving technological and societal impact.
Women in Technology and Entrepreneurship (WiTE) is a vibrant student-led
initiative under the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IEDC)
that empowers women to excel in technology, innovation, and entrepreneurial
leadership. As part of a growing global network spanning 90+ countries and
connecting with over 300,000 women innovators and changemakers, WiTE aims
to break gender barriers and ignite a passion for entrepreneurship among women
in STEM fields.
The WiTE chapter at RIT has swiftly emerged as a dynamic platform that fosters
entrepreneurial thinking, leadership confidence, and real-world problem-solving
skills among female students. Since its inception in 2023, WiTE has delivered a
series of impactful and action-driven programs that nurture business acumen,
creative innovation, and a thriving startup culture. With a strong emphasis on
inclusivity, empowerment, and professional growth, WiTE continues to inspire
and shape the next generation of women entrepreneurs, trailblazers, and tech
leaders. The community serves as a launchpad for bold ideas, encouraging
members to transform challenges into opportunities, collaborate across
disciplines, and emerge as confident changemakers in the innovation ecosystem.
Through expert sessions, entrepreneurial mentoring, and leadership-building
initiatives, WiTE is not just a platform—but a movement driving meaningful
impact on campus and beyond.
