ABOUT THE COURSE

The Undergraduate program, B.Tech in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence is the first of its kind in the Department of Technical Education, Kerala and has been sanctioned by the Government of Kerala in the year 2022. It is affiliated to APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, Kerala with a sanctioned intake of 30.


OVERVIEW

The program is envisaged to nurture and equip engineering undergraduates to take up jobs in the Robotics and AI industry as well as to emerge as entrepreneurs. The curriculum has been designed in such a manner that Artificial Intelligence and machine learning can provide a framework to enhance the autonomy and intelligence of Robots for external interfaces.

Familiarise With The State Of Art Sensor And Actuators Needed In Developing A Robot

Familiarise With The Recent Computing Tools To Solve The Various Design Issues Of The Robots

Acquire The Necessary Knowhow For The Communication Of Robots To The External World

Deploy The Algorithms Pertaining To Artificial Intelligence And Machine Learning Towards Realizing Autonomous Robots.

Design Miniature Robots To Address The Various Challenges Posed By Society And Industry.

Understand The Foundations Of Human Robotic Interaction

Explore Any Kind Of Collaboration With The Industry And Academia Working In Similar Areas.

DEVELOPMENT OF CURRICULUM

A Committee Comprising Faculty From The Dept. Of Electronics And Communication Engineering, Electrical And Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, And Computer Science Engineering Of The Dept Of Technical Education, Kerala Has Been Entrusted With The Design Of The Curriculum. Towards Enhancing The Quality And Content Of The Curriculum, Valuable Suggestions From Internationally And Nationally Renowned Academicians In The Field Of Robotics Were Obtained. Dr. Prahlad Vadakkepat, Professor At The Dept Of Electrical And Computer Engineering, National University Of Singapore, A World-Renowned Person Having A Long Span Of Experience In The Domain Of Robotics And Dr. Santhakumar Mohan, Associate Professor, Dept Of Mechanical Engg, Indian Institute Of Technology, Palakkad Had Reviewed The Syllabus And Offered Their Invaluable Suggestions.
